Book Circle Space

The gallery can be booked in weekly slots from Monday-Monday. Please use the calendar to see what dates are currently open for bookings. To be notified when the bookings open for each slot please join our mailing list. Please note the gallery is closed for bookings in January.

The weekly hire charge is £285 (Inc VAT).

To book please download, complete and attach to your email our booking form with details of your proposed exhibition/event so we can check it will be suitable for the space. Preference will be given to artists, illustrators and makers exhibiting new work.

When your booking is agreed you will be sent an invoice.

 

Once payment is made your booking is complete and your event will be added to the website.

FAQs

Do I need insurance to rent the space?


Yes, we will need to see proof of up to date public liability insurance before we can proceed with your booking.

Do I need to invigilate the space?


Yes, invigilation is not included, you are responsible for the gallery for the duration of your booking.




What is the minimum time I can book the space for?


The gallery can only be booked in weekly slots from Monday-Monday. However, you can open to the public for as many or as few days as you wish during that time.




What time can I access the space?


The key exchange and induction to the space happens on Mondays at 2pm unless otherwise agreed in advance.




What facilities are available at the space?


The space uses a traditional picture rail system to hang framed art work which extends along the top of all the walls with hooks and line provided. This system works best using D-rings placed high on either side of framed pieces. There is also a bar suspended from the ceiling along the length of the window to suspend light weight items for window displays.

A range of flexible furniture comes with the space. This includes three tables with adjustable legs, six chairs, 1 stool, 1 bench, 1 easel and 1 large A-board. Please specify on your booking form what furniture you require and we will set this up for you in advance of your booking.

The space also has tea & coffee making facilities for up to six persons and a selection of small dishes. Event glasses are also available for use on request.




Can I attach items directly to the walls?


No, please use the picture rail system provided. We suggest sourcing freestanding furniture if you need additional display surfaces.




Is there Wi-Fi at the space?


Yes, the gallery has its own Wi-Fi for use during your booking.




Where can I park?


The gallery does not have any parking directly outside but there are free 2 hour parking bays located on either side of St Augustines street on Sussex Street and Esdelle street. There is also ample long stay parking in the Anglia Square car parks a short distance away.

You can pull up outside at your own risk for speedy loading in and out of the gallery put please take care not to block the road for larger vehicles and be considerate of pedestrians.




Can I book the space for events?


Absolutely, we are open to bookings of all kinds but priority will be given to artists, illustrators and makers for public exhibitions. When making your booking enquiry please provide us with as much information as possible so we can assess if your event will be suitable for the space. We may ask to see further proof of licences and insurance depending on the type of event you wish to host. We ask that all events are not advertised to take place beyond 9pm with the public leaving the premises by 10pm to minimise disruption in this residential area.




Do you offer student discounts?


Unfortunately we are not in a position to offer students discounted bookings on an ongoing basis but do check the announcements section on our home page for any seasonal or short term special offers.
